Stop using Ziploc Bags to Store Parts!
In this video I'm showing you the perfect method to store small parts when you disassemble something.
People are usually using zip lock bags to store nuts and bolts from a restoration project. These can be very annoying if you have a lot of different bags. Using organizer boxes are a much better solution.
I hope you like my work and enjoy the video.

Building a Car Dolly - Moving a Car with No Wheels
Переглядів 154 тис.Місяць тому
In this video I'm going to build a dolly for the chassis of my Datsun 240Z. My goal was to build it as simple as possible to not use much material and also make it easy to store when it's not in use. I decided to make two separate dollies and don't have a conection in between them. It worked out very well, especially in the front. It could've been a little bit more rigid in the back, but it wor...
Tailgate Alignment - Customizing for the Perfect Fit (Datsun 240Z)
Переглядів 489 тис.5 місяців тому
In this video I'm adressing the issue of the tailgate alignment. It was sitting too low to the chassis and with the adjustable hinges I did not have enough movement to correct that. So I had to take off material on the chassis itself. After that and with the installment of the inner rubber seal I was able to get the perfect alignment. I hope you like my work and enjoy the video. Huge thank you ...
Worn Out Sloppy Hood Hinges Restoration - Datsun 240Z
Переглядів 846 тис.6 місяців тому
In this video I'm restoring the hood hinges of my 1973 Datsun 240Z. When I did the panel alignement on the hood of the car, I had to realize that both hinges were worn out. The had enormous play when the hood was closed. The movement in the hinges was around 2cm (3/4 inch) up and down. Installing the torsion bars did eliminate the loose play, but they just pushed all the play upwards, means I c...
Fixing the Wobbling Tailgate on my Datsun 240Z
Переглядів 349 тис.7 місяців тому
In this video I'm showing how I fixed the oil can effect on the tailgate on my datsun 240Z. Everytime you push the lock to open the tailgate the sheet will get pushed in as well. At first I thought something was broken off or defect, but turns out it was most likely like that from the factory. The sheet is just very flat there and not solid enough to withstand the force from pushing the lock. T...
How to weld a Patch on a Car - Side Markers Delete 240Z
Переглядів 674 тис.10 місяців тому
In this video I'm showing how to I removed the side marker holes in the fender of my Datsun 240Z. First I made the shape of the cutout easier by rounding the ends. Then I removed all the paint around the opening for clean welding. I preshaped a piece of sheet metal of the same thickness as the fender to match the curved shape of it. Once I had it I cut it to shape to fit inside the opening. I h...

How to remove the Engine from a 240Z - Step by Step Explained
Переглядів 241 тис.11 місяців тому
In this video I'm showing how to remove the engine with transmission from a Datsun 240Z. This is a Californian Model from 1973, built in November 1972. It does have an aftermarket AC system installed, has an overflow tank on the radiator, triple Weber carbureters and also another exhaust installed. So some steps might be a little bit different than on your car. I hope you like my work and enjoy...

I wonder why heat created a "bond", acts like glue? I would have imagined that a heated metal would contract once it cools down, which should make it loose right?

This boxes are nice,-for screws and nuts. But I have a similar problem with electronic parts. I would need a box with125 departments or many boxes only for my 1/4W metal film resistors. The carbon type resistors and the capacitors, inductors and transistors, IC´s and LED and screws need also a lot of boxes. This would exceed the volume off a workshop and the boxes become expensive. So I use 90µm (or stronger) bags and boxes to build a magazine where all bags fit in in a row.

I had seen a video before that used a tools similar to what you made. But it worked differently. In this way, when connecting the pin, high heat was given to the pin and then the head of the pin was hit with the tools you made. With this, the pin head would get a better shape and connection

With old air compressors you really should do a hydro test to make sure it's not going to blow up in the near future. There's a bunch of photos and videos of air compressor tanks blowing up due to internal rust! There are also several good videos of people doing hydro testing on their own air compressor tanks with a pressure washer.

I had no trouble using Zipper lock bags when I did a frame up restoration of my 74 Celica 10 years ago (I had much more durable bags than you showed in this video). But I didn't use them like you did. I organized my parts in the bags based on where they came off of the vehicle and put the bags in plastic totes for each section of the car. In this way, I knew all of the dash components were together, for example, which simplified restoration and reassembly. When I wanted to work on the left front turn signal, it was very easy to find that bin and the bags for that part. I even bought large 3 gallon bags to hold bigger parts, or to hold many smaller bags for a complex area. It was very handy to put larger greasy parts in 3 gallon bags for later cleaning and or restoration too. This helped keep the shop and bins clean. For example, a dirty alternator and its bolts, a window washer motor and its bolts, etc. 2 friends and I disassembled the car in just 3 days, all smaller parts stored in clean, labeled bins, so then the body could be welded, sand blasted, and painted. Over the course of the next many weeks, I was able to tackle the cleaning and repair of the many smaller bags and bins of parts as my time allowed. I could also look for replacement parts at this restoration and cleaning stage, because I knew a bezel was cracked, bolts bad, etc. I guess to each their own. Use the system that works best for you, and borrow the ideas that can help you out. I do use divided parts bins, like the ones you have in this video, for storage of NEW nuts and bolts and restored and clean odds and ends that do not belong to a particular project. As you know, you always need new bolts. Cheers. 👍

There is not a vehicle that has gone to space that had more precision and exactness than this mechanic's Datsun will have! Can you buy Boeing and just fix all the airplanes please?
